Projects

Computer Vision Playground

As a photographer, I've always been fascinated by computer vision and computational photography. With recent upgrades to my personal hardware, it is now possibile to explore this area further.

The end goal for this set of projects is to dive into computer vision, utilizing my collection of images as a dataset. In addtion, I'd migrate my work and reduce the number of interfaces necessary to access my work.

  • Migration and reorganization of multiple archives spanning nearly 12TB (~1 million RAW images) and taken over a decade. These images and metadata reside on a mix of legacy FW800, USB 3, and Thunderbolt 2 drives, and will be reorganized across larger capacity SSD's.
    (Work in Progress)
  • Utilizing existing computer vision solutions to classify objects and make photographs more metadata rich and more searchable.
    (Work in Progress)
  • Diving more deeply into data analysis, machine learning, and computer vision through Google, IBM, and Udacity certification tracks.
    (Work in Progress)
  • Preparing this massive photo archive for training future computer vision models.

Mobile Application for Engineering & Survival Simulations

A companion application for participants in a space engineering and survival simulation.

This application is being built in the attempt to resolve issues and frustrations that hinder the user experience in a few simulations. Particularly, issues that hinder critical tasks in simulated life and death situations.

The end goal for this collection of projects is to provide better reference and calculation tools to avert crises in a more timely fashion.

  • Scraping data for the application and creating data structures.
    (Work in Progress)
  • Conceptualizing the UX for the mobile application.
    (Slated)
  • Developing the mobile application natively with Swift.

Compliance Teams

  • Advocated for bringing accessibility into the design process, earlier rather than later.
  • Conceptualized the UI and interactions for a suite of 4 web-based compliance tools involving data entry, record keeping, auditing, and user management.
  • Wrote and corrected code, providing direction for devs on my vision for a responsive UI, and cleared a 3-month backlog of UI bugs within a few days of working in the codebase.
  • Evaluated Git repositories and selected frameworks to be used by UI developers and worked with internal Git repository owners to quickly find solutions for issues facing developers.
  • Met and worked directly with business stakeholders for research, brainstorming and understanding how to streamline work processes.
  • Aided engineers with frontend implementation, committed code to repositories.

Business Intelligence Teams

  • Conceptualized and modernized a data analytics web tool and its sister macOS application used internally across all major organizations.
  • Conceptualized and created mockups for a web-based program/project management tool in addition to Tableau counterparts — for use across a global organization of 1600 employees and vendors.
  • Assisted data scientist engineers with design spec on data visualization providing solutions for upper management to Apple standards.
  • Worked with SAP Business Objects resources to create design standards and documentation for customization of reports and dashboards.
  • Developed a simple and "dependency-free" site for a team's products and services.
  • Assisted with organizational branding efforts for products and services. This included logo design, vector illustrations, web design and video production.
